Description
Tata Ultra T.9 is a light-to-medium duty ICV (Intermediate Commercial Vehicle) cargo truck designed mainly for city distribution and short to medium distance logistics operations.
It comes with a 4×2 rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration and is powered by a Tata diesel engine (around 3.3L NG series engine depending on variant), producing approximately 100–155 HP with good torque for urban and semi-highway loads. The truck has a GVW of around 8.8–9.5 tonnes, placing it in the 9-ton class segment.
The Ultra T.9 is widely used for FMCG distribution, parcel and courier services, e-commerce logistics, dairy and perishable goods transport, and light industrial cargo. It is designed for better fuel efficiency, lower operating cost, and improved driver comfort compared to older LPT series trucks. The Ultra cabin offers a more modern layout with better visibility, seating comfort, and safety features.
It is not a tipper and not a tractor-trailer—it is strictly a cargo truck chassis meant for box body, container body, or platform applications. Its strong chassis and efficient engine make it suitable for high-frequency delivery routes where reliability and low maintenance are important.
Overall, the Tata Ultra T.9 is a modern, fuel-efficient, and practical cargo vehicle built for urban logistics and medium-load transport needs.
